I had a nice weekend. Spent Saturday with Eloise and Clayton moving my furniture into the house. It doesn't really feel much different though Lexies stuff looks pretty cool. Must remember to move the other couch out. Then Jackie and Shane came over and we had GnT's. Yummy. and prawns.MMmmmm.

Well I'm 2 and a half weeks into my trip or one week until I leave depending on how you look at it. I'm currently in San Francisco and feeling the pang of unfamiliarity despite my liking of the city. I'm about to head up to Fishermans Wharf and check out the sites. I love the hotel I'm staying in and intend on watching the movie it is based on tonight.
Time to head out.

The Breakfast Club or Mean Girls.
I could watch those flicks over and over
It's a good thing i quit bitting my nails...sort of.
I went to church today and it didn't kill me. It was a little emotional I gotta say.
Bit of a mixed bag really.

Well I spent the weekend trying not to give in to death. Awesome fun. Shit, i just realised I go to work to feel less dead. Not really that reassuring however after many many episodes of Family Guys things are started to look a little neutral. And there's only so many episodes left. Stupid thing about being addicted to telly shows is that they run out and bring me back to the harsh cold world of reality. Anyway have a month left of trying to get out of that stupid bike no sleep thing at the end of the month.
Still in the world of dreams baby.

1. Comment on this post.
2. I tell you a letter.
3. Think of 5 (or more if you want) book or movie characters and post their names and your comments on these characters in your LJ.
I got the letter 'S'
Starling, Clarice.
Stevens, James
Simpson, Homer
Scofield, Michael
Shrek

The good thing is I got over a week of freedom before I start my new job selling books. (Kudos to God for that)
The bad thing is I got over a week with a two digit bank account , a sore throat and busy working friends and family.
The good thing is though, I'm getting to know the DVD player downstairs really well. And Meryl Streep. And Jon Voight.
I just realised when I was doing this really cool quiz online (http://www.sporcle.com/games/ Sometimes the links a bit screwy) I'd hardly seen any of Meryl Streeps films at all so I grabbed a few from the local Video Ezy and caught up with The Manchurian Candidate and Out of Africa. I'm not sure the latter film deserved Best Picture but Streep was very good in it.
To think, without DVD's I might have to resort myself to crappy midday television. I'm kidding folks. I'd just take up reading again :D

I love television recaps.
When I was in primary school (Wow, I can hear my boyfriends brother laughing now...) I used to chat about the latest episode of whatever I was watching back then with class mates. Often message boards regarding the series I watch are based in the United States therefore the episode I just watched and want to comment on has already aired several if not half a season ago (Boy did I love channel ten for airing House episodes right after it had aired in the States. I almost forgave them for letting Big Brother run YET ANOTHER BLOODY SEASON.). Yeah, message boards are out (Not to mention there are some really rude people out there which has kinda turned me off them in general). So, what's left is recaps. While it's not as interactive as a message board, or better yet talking to actual people the recapper often has a humourous take on the episode which can be quite amusing to read. Kinda like Mystery Science 3000.
The recaps are found on Television Without Pity which has been great. Even though some of the recappers tended to dislike some of the characters I liked, their take on the episode was funny and informative. One of the best was the one written on Serenity which was a great read and provided heaps of analysis and information. However TWoP aren't terribly fussy about who they put on to recap shows. Sometimes the recapper doesn't even like the show. Or they change recappers several seasons in to a writer who hasn't even watched the series previously and make stupid ignorant comments regarding the series. The worst was the recapper for Firefly, who obviously wasn't a fan of the show (which is moronic in the first place since the show is just awesome.) and make silly comments criticizing the things that make the show unique. Not to mention the constant homoerotic empathise the recapper put on most scenes in the episode. It's funny a couple of times, but we're watching Firefly not Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
Where have the television lovers gone?

...is about to close.
I finally got the nerve to tell my boss I needed a new better paying job. Plus I threw in a replacement (Still int he works but I'm hoping it will come to pass) too so hopefully he's not tooo unhappy.
So I'll be looking for a nice job over the weeks to come. There's a lot of jobs in Perth so I'm hoping to find one that I'll enjoy and that doesn't involve me going home smelling like a lamb spit or garlic sauce.
Might be able to afford a bit more then baked beans for tea too.

*Sigh*
After promising myself and practically everyone else I spoke to recently (so....not so many people) I didn't tell my boss I needed to quit. I chickened out and promised myself I would tomorrow. If I have a new job by the end of May that pays decent, I will treat myself to a nice journal from that cool bookstore in Freo. Actually there's a couple of book shops in the Forum too, that sell nice journals.
I also discovered I really hate church music.
It just burns.
